   According to visa bulletin; kindly be informed that the 2nd letter notification will be available in case you case number less than 27,500 it will be current month,
   and in case greater thank 27,500 it will be next month isA.

    Obviously doing anything late can delay or mean things go further behind in the queue. However I would check your case number online to see how things are progressing and go to the http://dvlottery.state.gov website for all main contact details.

    How are you doing, please take note that as long as the number is not passed yet;
    you have to be calmed down as the next processed numbers for your country is “Nigeria: 14,350 ” for March
    if your case number less than or equal 350 then you will going to receive the letterin March
    in case it was greater than this number you will have to wait till april
    as don’t be annoyed ever!!

16. Hi, I confirmed from the KCC that my forms have been received on 10 February, 2010 and are waiting to be processed. It seems that the KCC has received my forms very late. My case number is 2010AF00060+++. My concern is that, will the KCC schedule me for an interview once my case number category is current even though my forms were received late.

    Based on my request, I have got an email from KCC, they confirmed my interview date and the date they have sent me my interview letter visa post. So I am have that my interview has been schedualed.

    However, from now (Feb 16) up to the day of my interview, i have less than 10 days, but my intervidw letter has not reached to my address yet. In fact my country has really poor postal service that sometimes it takes up to 2 months that a package arrive in the post. So could you please advise me, what should i do. if i do not get my letter before my interview. Should i contact KCC or the related embassy?

    infact, could a winner in this period contact KCC when his case number falls in the visa bulletin published in the month for assurance on the date scheduled him before he receives the second letter through the post? I’m a Ghanaian.

    I need help so much. I am a winner of 2010 lottery. My interview was scheduled on th 7th of Jan, but I haven`t received the second package from KCC at all. And when I called them in Feb because I had read the visa bulletin, they told me that I have missed my interview. I do not know what to do. Please help me. I am desperate. I would have known by now the result. Do I still have any chances?

    The best thing to do is to contact your US embassy and see what their directive is or even the KCC as you suggested.

    You can always try and contact the KCC but sometimes they may not respond to all types of questions but if the date is published as such then you can be pretty much assured it is correct.

    The only thing you can do is try and contact the KCC or your US embassy and see what advice they can give you with the delayed mail package as there is nothing any outside party can do to help this unfortunately.

    When your case is current in the visa bulliten, the best way is to contact KCC and request for information. They will reply you, if you can well explain your problems.

    the package doesn’t give a timeframe for returning the forms.
    i called the uscis and they told me that there is no specific time frame, just send it back in time for them to process the greencard.

    It’s trice 3 now i’ve contacted the kcc about my case. Eventhough they have given me correct responses but the always ask me; is it canidat or relative?
    have u any idea?
    Also is contacting the kcc has any infect on once interview?
    c) When one number (Africa/Ghana or Ivory Coast) becomes current in April for an example, when will he/she sit for an interview.

30. ralph – asking if it is a relative etc is normal. i was always asked that and i don’t believe contacting the kcc has any effect because i did it several times – i even communicated with them extensively about changing my interview location. there is no way of telling when your exact interview date is. once one’s number becomes current, one receives a package from the kcc containing the interview date. you can also call the kcc as soon as you’re aware of your number being current and they will give you the date so that you can prepare for it. that’s what i did when my number became current – i called them right away, they gave me the date and i started getting ready – a few days later, my package with the official date came in the mail.

    If they are asking whether you are a candidate or relative, they would probably be referring to whether you are the winner yourself or just the dependent of the winner (i.e. spouse or child). Contacting KCC has no effect on your interview and only the KCC knows the times of Interviews so you will have to ask them.

    One more things pls; Is it possible changing a sponsor after sending his/her name and address to KCC when notice that they are not showing concern in your process or they don’t have the finacial capability to host you in the US? 36. Plz wish I a get a rapid answer from you. I wedded my wife customarily in my country a year before applaying for the dvlottery 2010. In my initial dv entry I stated that i was married. I got my result as winner of dv 2010. Now I am waiting for my 2nd package only to find out that my country of resident don’t accept customary weddings certificat, like my country do. Now,
    1. Is it possible to remarry to suits my present country marriage regulations?
    2. Will it not pose problem for me after telling KCC that I got married in 2007 then showing marriage certificats of 2010, calling it ARRANGE MARRIAGE?
    or is there any posibility presenting the two certificats @ the interview?

    plz give me a way out , WHAT CAN I DO TO HANDLE THIS ISSUE.

    My winning number is 2010AF00042xxx. It ooks like my number will be current in may. I opted for the adjustment of status because I have been living here in the US for the past 6 years. I sent packages and pay dv fee(375) to the Missouri office and got the receipt. The last correspondnce that I received fromm KCC indicated that because I opted for AOS USCIS will be handling my case.
    My question is the following: If my number becomes current can I go ahead and send in the I-485? Or am I supposed to receive a certain document from Uscis before I can do it?

    Thanks for your kind words. The Green Card Lottery winners do not require a US sponsor to get the green card. That is only relevant for other forms of sponsorship like family sponsoring.
    As for your marriage issue that is a difficult one and I am not sure how to advise you there because it may look suspicious to a US consular official. It may be best to consult an Immigration specialist for that as it may produce the best outcome for you and your wife.

    Generally police reports from most countries in Eastern Europe are handled by the Federal police equivalent of that country but it may help to have a local contact there if you are not present there to help the process along.

    You should be able to send the AOS I-485 in at that point but probably best to call USCIS to see if there is anything else they will need you to submit with that form.

    please i ‘ve read all the comment but no real answers to all questions with my respect to all people who waist their time and try to answer the only one that i got is call kcc ou uscis for answers so please i would like some people who lived the process to take time and explain to all of us how it works
    i would love one person who applied out of the state and on other one who were here illegaly and did the process ( adjustement of status)

48. Hi Joe,
    If you win the Green Card Lottery and you are currently illegal in the US, you are still technically eligible to get a Green Card via the lottery. Illegal immigrants who marry US citizens can get their green card while still in the US so it would probably be a similar situation but is probably best to consult a specialist so you do it right.
    Otherwise you will have to wait here in case others come back and share their experiences.

    Is she wants to bring her sister permanently to the US, she can only sponsor her if she is a US citizen and not just a green card holder. Then the wait list for sibling sponsorship can be like 10 years as it is the lowest priority of all the family sponsorships. If she wants to bring her to the US temporarily she can help organize a B1/B2 tourist visa but that would only be for a short period.
